About Estate Tree Service
Estate Tree Service is comprised of experienced professionals, each of whom cares about the quality and care of your trees. We’re led by our owner, Greg Dempsey, who holds our team to the highest standards for professionalism, customer service, safety and skill, and ensures that we use the most effective techniques and state-of-the-art equipment to achieve safe and satisfactory results.
Our services include technical tree removal, stump removal, deadwood removal, and pruning and shaping to name a few, and each one is executed with safety, respect, and affordability in mind. By drawing from the knowledge and insight of our team, we’re able to exceed the Frankfort community’s expectations.

Our History
Estate Tree Service was founded in 1957 by Ernest Webb in Louisville, Kentucky. This is a family operated business as Ernest’s son, Mike, started working for him at the age of 16.
Over the years, Estate Tree Service developed a reputation as Louisville’s premier tree service. The business foundation was based on quality work, competitive pricing, and honesty.
In 1992, Mike took over the business. After his father passed away several years later, Mike decided to move the business to Frankfort so he could be closer to his remaining family members.
In 2010, Mike partnered with his cousin, Greg Dempsey. Together, Mike and Greg continue the tradition, values, founding principles and mission established years ago by Ernest Webb: To serve customers in Frankfort and Central Kentucky area by providing safe, quality tree care at a fair price.
In 2024, Estate Tree Service was sold to Patrick and Paula Sumner of Winchester, Kentucky. The Sumners are committed to extending the legacy and outstanding reputation of the company in its current service area, while expanding services to the eastern areas of Central Kentucky, namely to Clark, Montgomery and Bourbon counties.
