Estate Tree Service is comprised of experienced professionals, each of whom cares about the quality and care of your trees. We’re led by our owner, Greg Dempsey, who holds our team to the highest standards for professionalism, customer service, safety and skill, and ensures that we use the most effective techniques and state-of-the-art equipment to achieve safe and satisfactory results.
Our services include technical tree removal, stump removal, deadwood removal, and pruning and shaping to name a few, and each one is executed with safety, respect, and affordability in mind. By drawing from the knowledge and insight of our team, we’re able to exceed the Frankfort community’s expectations.

Our History
Estate Tree Service was established in 1957 by Ernest Webb in Louisville, Kentucky. This family-run business saw Ernest’s son, Mike, join the team at just 16 years old.
Over the decades, Estate Tree Service earned a reputation as the leading tree service in Louisville. The company’s foundation was built on quality workmanship, competitive rates, and integrity.
In 1992, Mike took the reins of the business. After his father’s passing a few years later, Mike opted to relocate the business to Frankfort to be closer to his family.
In 2010, Mike teamed up with his cousin, Greg Dempsey. Together, they uphold the tradition, values, founding principles, and mission set forth by Ernest Webb: to provide safe, high-quality tree care at a fair price to customers in Frankfort and the Central Kentucky area.
In 2024, Estate Tree Service was acquired by Patrick and Paula Sumner from Winchester, Kentucky. The Sumner’s are dedicated to preserving the legacy and exceptional reputation of the company in its current service area while expanding services to the eastern regions of Central Kentucky, specifically Clark, Montgomery, and Bourbon counties. Implementing Tree Care plans is fundamental to our business. We focus on educating homeowners and business owners on how to properly maintain their trees, ensuring their health and longevity within their properties.
